DRB Baureihe 050 Lokomotive (1:87) by: Frederick Boucher | Vendor: Revell of Germany This review is of the original ESCI kit. Revell now has the tooling for this (and several other ESCI German Dampflokomotive (steam locomotive). The level of detail is exceptional. A large German Dampflokomotive featured a ganglion of piping along the boiler. Rivets and bolts festooned heavy castings and fitting. ESCI reproduced these features along with their hangers, clasps, valves and stays. Though they are molded on, this is what one will find on todays high quality electric steam locomotive models.

English Co. of Morrisville, PA, manufacturer of cast metal loco kits, to get into the plastic market. Around 1960 - '70, they marketed a line of inexpensive non-working plastic kits. HObbyline’s 2-8-4 Berkshire was a highly desirable model until AHM came out with their electric version.

Duchess Of Gloucester (1:84) by: Frederick Boucher | Vendor: Kitmaster In 1959 Kitmaster released their fourth kit, the stunning “Duchess Of Gloucester” Coronation Class, engineered to the United Kingdom’s standard OO (4 mm, or 1/76) scale. This model of Britain’s largest 4-6-2 passenger steam locomotive was enthusiastically received. Short-lived, but critically acclaimed, Rosebud Kitmaster kits of predominately British and European prototypes were, and still are, esteemed by countless railroad modelers. The Kitmaster Duchess Of Gloucester was, in its day, an outstanding model, as were all the Kitmasters.
